Fees & Insurance

At this time I am only accepting clients age 18 and older.  I offer both in-person and telehealth options between the hours of 8-5, Monday-Thursday.

Who I work with:

Individuals and couples age 18 and older.

I also work with adults who are in other types of relationships (polyamory, ENM, non-romantic relationships, friendships, etc.)

Fees & Payment:

Initial assessment: Individuals (55 minutes, $190)

Initial assessment: Couples and other relationships (90 minutes $225)

Follow Up Appointments:

45-minute sessions: $150

55-minute sessions: $165

90-minute sessions: $210

I offer a limited number of reduced fee spots available for clients who are unable to afford the full fee. This will be discussed prior to our first meeting.

Payment is due at the time of service and can be made via cash, check, or card. You will be asked to provide a credit or debit card number for me to keep on file, which will be kept secure in an encrypted online management system. This card can be used for session fees and will be used for late cancellations, no-shows, and unpaid balances.

cancellations:

Since scheduling an appointment involves the reservation of time specifically for you, a minimum of 24 hours notice is required for rescheduling or canceling an appointment. Your regular session fee will be charged for sessions missed or rescheduled without such notification. Please note that insurance companies do not reimburse for missed sessions.

Insurance:

I do not accept any insurance at this time. However, I will collaborate with you to maximize your out-of-network benefits when appropriate. This can be done via submitting a superbill to your insurance company (unless we have agreed to a reduced fee for sessions).

A note about insurance:

Navigating insurance for therapy can be complex, and it’s important to be informed. To use your insurance for mental health treatment, a diagnosis is required. This diagnosis is based on the severity of symptoms and must meet established medical criteria. Sometimes, a diagnosis may be included in your records even if it wasn’t explicitly discussed during a previous session.

At Dragonfly Therapy, we’re happy to assist you by providing a claim to submit to your insurance for covered services. However, not all diagnoses are eligible for reimbursement. For example, certain policies may exclude coverage for issues related to sexual health. Additionally, even when symptoms meet the requirements for a psychiatric diagnosis, insurance companies ultimately decide what they will and won’t cover.

It’s also important to note that insurance generally does not cover relationship counseling, such as couples or marriage therapy. These sessions focus on improving the health of the relationship itself—enhancing communication, addressing relational challenges, or working through conflicts—and are not considered treatment for a specific individual’s mental health condition. Because of this, insurance providers typically won’t reimburse for these services.

Using out-of-network benefits:

If you’d like to use your out-of-network benefits, contacting your insurance provider is a good first step. Here are some helpful questions to guide the conversation:

  • Who am I speaking with? (Ask for the representative’s name and extension.)

  • Are services provided by an out-of-network therapist eligible for coverage under my plan?

  • If I submit a statement (often called a “Superbill”) that includes session dates, a diagnosis, and the CPT code, will your company accept it?

  • Does my plan cover individual therapy (CPT code 90834)? Note: Many insurance plans do not cover couples or marriage counseling.

  • Are there specific mental health conditions that are excluded from coverage?

  • How many therapy sessions are included in my benefits each year?

  • Does my policy have a lifetime maximum for mental health services?

  • What is my out-of-network deductible?

  • What is the allowed amount for therapy fees, and what percentage of that amount will be reimbursed?

  • How should I file a claim for reimbursement?

Understanding these details can help you plan for therapy and make confident decisions about your care. At Dragonfly Therapy, we’re here to support you as you navigate this process.
